The video of this painting, ASCENSION, was filmed to show the way I felt while creating it. ASCENSION was inspired by the brass Stolpersteine stumbling stones (by Gunter Demnig) memorializing the homes of the Jewish families taken to concentration camps during WWII.I played the song, Yom Min El-Ayaam by Luna Abu Nassar for three days in my Orquevaux art studio and was completely entranced in emotion while my paintbrush danced around my canvas (what seemed like) independently.
